1. From light beige fabric:

Cut 2 squares 2⅜” × 2⅜”. Cut each square in half diagonally once to make 4 triangles (A).

Cut 1 square 4¼” × 4¼”. Cut the square in half diagonally twice to make 4 triangles (B).

2. Using template C, make 4 squares from medium blue fabric and 5 squares from very light brown fabric.

3. Sew 2 very light brown C squares to opposite sides of a medium blue C square. Press toward the medium blue square. Repeat to make an identical row. Sew 2 medium blue C squares to opposite sides of a very light brown C square. Press toward the medium blue squares. Sew the 3 rows together to make the central Nine-Patch.

4. Make 4 of foundation paper piecing pattern D. Make 4 of foundation paper piecing pattern E.

5. Pair each D with an E and sew together. Press.

6. Sew 2 of the D/E foundation units to opposite sides of the central Nine-Patch. Press.

7. Sew 2 light beige B triangles to opposite sides of each remaining D/E foundation unit. Press.

8. Sew the units created in Step 7 to opposite sides of the unit created in Step 6. Press.

9. Sew the light beige A triangles to the corners of the block. Press.
